Happy Halloween! 2012

The Fall is my favorite time here in Iowa!!  So many fun little pumpkin patches and farms to visit:)  We also had Grandpa Scott and Grandma Cath come to join us for some fun!  We loved every minute of it and are truly grateful to have such amazing parents!  They helped us more than they will ever know and we love them!  Iylie is so lucky to have so many great examples in her life!
We had a fun but simple Halloween!

Fall Family Pictures 2012

My friend Nicole was so sweet and captured these precious memories for me!  Brett says are you sure you want to take them while you're pregnant?  You always tell me you don't like how you feel when you're pregnant.  And he is right about that but the fact is that when I'm not pregnant and I look back it brings back so many feelings and emotions and I wanted to capture the little miracle inside me where I actually look kind of descent:)  Even though she couldn't make me look skinnier:)  she did a great job and I'm so grateful to have these!!

27 weeks!

I "Mustache" you a question??

So Iylie had some news to share this year that her only child syndrome will be expiring in January

But the question we "MUSTACHE" you is...Is it a boy or a girl??  We asked both our families and this was their responses...

We're pleased to say that we will be having a little BOY join our family and we couldn't be any more happier!  So fun to have one of each.  Iylie says she's excited but I'm not quite sure if she knows what's in store.  She doesn't do well with loud noises or crying (even though she does it quite often) and if we're babysitting someone's baby she tells me to call their mom to come get them.  I've been trying to teach her that we can't send this one back and that she'll have to plug her ears sometimes:)  Ha ha we'll see how that goes!

Iylie unsupervised!

So the first I guess you could say 20 weeks of pregnancy I was lets just say under the weather!  This pregnancy was a lot different than the first which was the only indication that maybe I was having a little boy.  I couldn't keep my food down and just the sound of food made me sick!  To go to the grocery store was torture, I had to always be on the lookout for the next garbage can.  I would close my eyes in the meat section and Brett would ask why I got the most expensive kind.  I told him it's because my eyes were closed.  I kind of became a bad mom and a bad wife.  The couch and toilet became a close friend and it didn't take long to really appreciate good health.  But just like most storms, it did clear up and I kind of became myself again!  During these hard weeks I found my little Irelynn had become quite independent.  She learned to dress herself, wipe all by herself, even feed herself sometimes!  I captured a couple pictures of her entertaining herself which in turn entertained me:)  Here's just a couple...
She LOVES Tangled and dresses up daily

I found her asleep on our steps and I felt bad after a friend reminded me of the mice on Cinderella when they have to bring her the key and they look up at all those steps!  I always tell Iylie you can do it just keep climbing but she's about as big as those mice and I'm sure our steps seem overwhelming at times!:)

I woke up to this one morning:)  She found some lipstick.  Can we say BEAUTIFUL?:)

This is her pretending to be Tarzan with a loin cloth

She found an umbrella and felt the need to pose:)

This is our little princess:) ha ha she kills me

With pigtails and all she just plays whatever her little imagination comes up with

This one is hilarious!  She found our "private" drawer ha ha and there was a candy thong that someone gave Brett on our wedding day.  Don't ask me why we still have it, maybe for a rainy day:)  But I found our little Iylie just munchin' away on it!  Ha ha I laughed for days!

And she's out!

SOME OF OUR HIGHLIGHT CONVERSATIONS THIS YEAR...

1.  While I was sick and hunched over the toilet in just my garments, Iylie gets this real concerned look on her face as she's looking down my shirt.  She says, "mommy what's the matter with your skin?"  I said, "what do you mean Iylie?"  She said, "It's got a big crack in it!"  Ha ha so innocent and cute and made my situation so much better!

2.  After grocery shopping Iylie says "mom where are the WORMS we're making for dinner?"  I said, "Iylie I did not buy any worms for dinner, I don't know what you're talking about."  She was so frustrated and tried to tell me about these worms I had bought.  I just decided to forget about it.  The next day I got some ground turkey out of the freezer and she said in such a relieved voice, "there's the worms that we bought for dinner!"  I said, "ha ha you're right those do look like worms!"  Anyway this girl is too cute and we love having worms for dinner!

3.  Brett had some time this summer to go swimming a couple times but little Iylie isn't used to seeing him without his shirt on I guess.  She was playing in the public aquatic center with my friend Ashley and Marlee way across the way.  When Brett took his shirt off, Iylie cheered so loud, clapped, and shouted "Yay my daddy's naked!!"  Ha ha she laughed, we laughed and everyone else who was there laughed.  Not so sure Brett thought it was that funny though:)

4.  So Grandma Cath taught Iylie to call going potty "Mr. Tinkle" and going poopy "Mr. Logger."  I guess she thought she was funny:)  But anyway we came back from Utah and I was going potty.  Iylie said, "Oh mommy I hear your Mr. Tinkle."  I said, "did Grandma teach you that?"  She said, "ya but where's your Mr. Logger?  Is he asleep in your bum?"  I just laughed, she just says things so cute and serious!

5.  Just the other day we were eating breakfast and just randomly she said, "mom Joseph smith helped me put my books back on my shelf."  She then took another bite then with her mouth full she said, "and then he leaved, but he said he'd be back to help me."  I kind of got teary eyed because of how sweet and innocent it was.  Whose to say he wasn't in her room with her that day:) ha ha  I just love the little things that come out of this girls mouth!

6.  She loves babies that aren't mobile but once they are mobile and can't talk she is so afraid of them!  It's hilarious, she'll yell out to the moms to come pick them up because she says they're after her:)  This girl cracks me up and there's so much personality wrapped up in her little body, we are so blessed to have her in our family!

Balloon Festival!

We got to ride in a hot air balloon!  It only went up and then down but still it was a lot of fun!  Iylie might tell you different:)  She was scared out of her mind.  The noise and the fire just sent her over the edge (not literally):)  We went with the Cooks and the girls had fun at the little carnival.
We then watched a bit of the Lorax in the park then finished the night with some fireworks.
Good times here in Iowa:)
